Recently, the kids both had super kids day at school, where they spent 90 minutes running around with a partner completing a list of physical activities such as a 50 yard dash, rock wall climbing, feet fishing, and Popsicle eating to name a few. We have also been occupied with other end of the school year activities such as soccer games, visiting grandparents, dance lessons, and weekly walks to the library for me and G.
GA double sprained his ankle in the last softball game we played. We managed to squeak out the win (we even went into extra innings!), but he's been on crutches for the past week with a lovely colored and swollen ankle. So far our team is 5-0 with 3 more games to go. We are super excited to finally be above the .500 mark!
In between all my time driving and ferrying people around, I've been busy volunteering in G's classroom, working on and in our school's outdoor classroom, and preparing for our outdoor day later this week. I think it is going to be a fun day. We will have 9 different activities that the teachers get to take their classes to with the objectives of (1) being outside, (2) learning something outdoors related, and (3) having fun! Some of the stations are a stream and erosion trailer, a recycling demonstration, a renewable energy trailer, a live insect exhibit, a petting zoo, and hand print fence painting.
Now it's off to finish making plaster casts of animal footprints, investigate the gestation period of turtle eggs, put finishing touches on end of year teacher gifts, oh, and get some sleep!!
