Dinosaurs!

So we took a trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park. It was really neat. The river has eroded such that dinosaur tracks are visible from a long neck type dinosaur and a meat eater type dinosaur.

Garett even got bit by a dinosaur! Okay, not really... he was walking in the river without his shoes and managed to get a nice cut on the ball of his foot near his big toe. After stemming the gushing blood, we told him that maybe there was a skeleton of a meat-eater under the water and he stepped on the tooth! He thought it was funny yesterday, but today he insists that it was just a sharp rock.

After we got back cousin Ty came over and the three kids spent at least an hour excavating a rock volcano that had dinosaurs buried within it. I should mention here that they were in the tent that they were going to camp in for the night and using flashlights to light the working area. Two of them would hold the flashlights while the third was hammering and chiseling away! They had fun and made a nice mess with pebbles all over tent. Lucky for them, Nanny and Papa vacuumed out the tent before they went to sleep - else it might have been a "rocky" night!
